GNC Utility Technician - 3rd shift Maintenance in Whitestown, Indiana
GNC is the nation's leading speciality retailer of vitamins and supplements. With a state-of-the-art Distribution Center in Whitestown IN, we are currently looking for a Utility Technician to support our 3rd shift operation.
This position would be responsible for basic maintenance calls, preparing parts for 1st shift maintenance operations, pallet removal and basic warehouse and grounds maintenance, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Sunday - Thursday: 10 PM - 6:30 AM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform basic mechanical/conveyor tasks as trained.
Provide support to Maintenance Technicians as needed.
Prepare and stage parts and tools for 1st shift Maintenance team.
Conducts various inspections and tests including but not limited to the following:
Monthly fire extinguisher inspections
Monthly exit sign inspections/test
Weekly eye wash inspections
Weekly valve inspections
Provide assistance with conveyor jams as needed.
Nightly emptying of trash, recycle bins, mopping, sweeping, dusting, running floor scrubber and general facilities upkeep.
Perform various duties assigned by supervisor, and assist in various projects as needed such a seasonal projects, department coverage and pallet removal.
Monitor all supplies to ensure availability and notify supervisor when needed.
Operate compactors to ensure bales and dumpster are removed promptly.
Maintain all equipment used and return to designated storage areas. Perform any and all cleaning of equipment as necessary to ensure good working order.
Provide set up and tear down assistance for meetings or training areas as requested
Operation of powered vehicles and other heavy equipment when necessary and authorized by management.
Perform warehouse touch-up painting i.e. columns, guarding, and handrails
Misc. minor facility repairs as needed
Other misc. tasks as assigned by manager.
High School degree or GED required.
Requires basic math and reading skills.
Able to complete the required in-house powered equipment training program.
Standing, bending, pulling, pushing, and reaching 100% of time.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 on occassion
Demonstrates strong initiative, integrity, and the ability to work with little direct supervision.
