GNC Machine Operator 2nd & 3rd in Greenville, South Carolina
The Coating Operator is responsible for all process functions to include but not limited to; machine disassembling, total machine cleaning, tooling, setting parameters, adhering to batch records instructions, preparing coating solution, machine operations, troubleshooting and, testing. Continual monitoring of tablet coating machines such that all quality and/or customer specifications are achieved in an effective and efficient manner. Coating machine operations consist of both Batch Coating and Continuous Coating processes.
Hours of Operation:
2nd Shift: 1p-11p
3rd Shift: 8p-6a
Currently working mandatory OT on Fridays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare coating equipment for use, to include but not limited to;
Following SOPs and Work Instructions, cleaning of all coating equipment and rooms.
Coordinate next scheduled product from Supervisor, Operation Specialist or Lead.
Gather and ensure all required paperwork is present to manufacture the next scheduled lot.
Prepare solutions for use in the coating process, which require continuous heavy lifting of raw materials, climbing ladders, cleaning of tanks and climbing on and under tanks.
Verify that product (solution and cores) correctly matches batch record instructions for use in the manufacture of each production lot.
Apply coating solution to tablet cores, to include;
Load and unload tablet cores in the coating process.
Specifically follow the batch record instructions to apply the correct coating solution without error.
Document all processing steps in accordance with the assigned batch record.
Monitor and chart coating process per SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
Make adjustments as necessary to keep all parameters within specification ranges.
Reconcile the final bulk product.
Other duties as assigned.
Support training of new operators.
Overtime as required.
Knowledge and compliance of company policies and SOP's.
Knowledge and understanding of all of the cGMP's and Work Instructions relating to this position.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Previous nutraceutical or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
Some college or technical training.
Skills and Abilities
Good numerical and reading comprehension skills.
Able to utilize a standard calculator.
The ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
Accuracy and attention to detail required.
Ability to obtain license for and operate forklift equipment.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions.
Must be able to work positively within a team environment.
Work Environment / Travel / Physical Demands
Must be able to function within a Manufacturing environment
Must be able to work around loud equipment and sometimes wet areas.
Must also be able to climb up and down ladders and stairs.
Must be able to continuously lift and maneuver weights up to 50 pounds while climbing ladders and or stairs.
Must be able to work in a dusty environment with a wide range of raw materials.
Must wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) as required by company policy, batch records and SOP's, which may include but not limited to: dust masks, rubber gloves, latex or other type gloves, eye protection, goggles, and hearing protection.
