GNC Regulatory Compliance Director - International & Domestic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Summary:

Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance of ingredients, products and product related information in the USA and globally. Accountable for successful registration of products globally to ensure sale outside the USA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise all activities to ensure regulatory compliance and approval of new products, labelling, claims, marketing and training material of GNC and 3rd party products.

  • Guide new product development pipeline by identifying regulatory status of ingredients. Identify regulatory barriers and solutions to mitigate and minimize impact to business.

  • Direct and supervise all activities pertaining to product registration and shipping globally. Monitor changing global regulations to determine impact on the design, compliance and registration of products globally.

  • Work with internal and external business partners including scientific affairs, marketing, quality control, product development, legal, etc., to identify current and future regulatory and compliance needs to support and advance business requirements.

  • Ensure full compliance of GNC and 3rd party products (i.e. non GNC brand) with all areas of GNC’s Quality Commitments.

  • Develop and direct a strong team of regulatory compliance specialists capable of managing complex regulatory issues.

  • Cultivate relationships with a strong network of experts, regulatory authorities and industry peers both in the USA and globally.

  • Represent GNC externally at relevant regulatory and scientific meetings/ conferences.

Experience

Minimum

  • Advanced regulatory knowledge with 8-10yrs experience in regulatory affairs in the dietary supplement industry including TGA, Health Canada, EFSA, and FDA.

  • Familiarity with regulations in South and Latin American Markets and the Middle East is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary supplements experienced with scientific research methods, product design and product registrations outside of the United States.

Preferred:

  • Strong Working experience with product development, quality control and regulatory bodies/ experts.

Education

Minimum - Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Chemistry or related Biological Sciences.

Preferred - BS/MS in Nutrition, Chemistry or Biological sciences.

  • Flexibility to work across different time zones

  • Ability and wiliness to travel both within and outside the USA as needed
