GNC IT Systems Analyst - Marketing Systems in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

The systems analyst is a key connection between the Marketing and CRM Departments and the IT team. They understand the business processes and how technology can solve issues the business is facing or might face in the future. The Marketing Systems Business Analyst must have experience with databases, file transfers and large datasets and must be comfortable writing queries and documenting data flows.

  • Key liaison with the business

  • Analyze complex business problems and assess how technology may solve them. Recommend solutions (new software, updated software, new hardware)

  • Formalize the objectives and scope of business systems (project planning and startup)

  • Consult with business to develop the project requirements (business requirements documentation)

  • Develop (with the business) user acceptance requirements for new software (user test plans)

  • Provide support to business when key issues occur (bridge business and IT solutions when major incident occurs, react to regulatory and compliance issues)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements Documentation:

  • Gathers information and supports the completion of the Business Requirements Document solutions by working closely with the business, vendors, and appropriate IT teams

  • Documents using Business Requirements Documentation standards

  • Understands and documents system integrations, data flows, data transformations, and field-level requirements

  • Familiar with data security requirements and system design

Development Support:

  • Supports solution design by providing insight at design sessions with internal and vendor IT teams to help translate requirements into workable business solutions

  • Recommends the need for additional data and/or services to address key business issues

  • Researches third party solutions as needed

Deployment / Support / QA:

  • Supports solution integration and user acceptance testing

  • Provides post implementation support to business

  • Researches and investigates business questions and incidents; ongoing production support of existing applications

  • Develops complex user acceptance criteria

  • Serves as a liaison between business and development to manage requests for additional scope or process changes

-Develops queries and processes to validate large data ETL processes

Job Specifications

3+ years of relevant experience and 5+ years of IT experience

Retail Experience with cross functional experience and specific experience in CRM/Marketing systems a plus

Contributed to business case development

Bachelor Degree in Business Admin, Computer Science, MIS or relevant field

Knowledge in a .NET environment using Microsoft tools, SQL Server and/or Oracle Databases
